Known mononymously as Aparna, her eloquent and clear Kannada narration won the hearts of many. Her death on 11 July 2024, due to complications from lung cancer, is an irreparable loss, deeply felt by all who cherished her contributions to the film and television industry.

Aparna’s journey into the world of entertainment began with her cinematic debut in 1984 in Puttanna Kanagal's last film, Masanada Hoovu. She quickly became a household name, captivating audiences with her skillful narration and heartfelt performances. Throughout the 1990s, she was a popular face on Kannada television, presenting various shows that aired on DD Chandana. 

Between 2015 and 2021, Aparna entertained viewers with her portrayal of Varalakshmi on the sketch comedy show, Majaa Talkies. Her versatility and charm made her a beloved figure in the industry, both on and off the screen.
