FIR Against Kannada Actor Rakshith Shetty for Copyright Violation

Popular Kannada actor Rakshit Shetty is facing a legal battle after a copyright lawsuit was filed against him. MRT Music, a well-known music firm, has accused Shetty of using their songs without permission in his latest film, 'Bachelor Party.' This dispute has drawn significant attention in the Kannada film industry, given Shetty's reputation and the high expectations surrounding his film. The complaint was filed by Naveen Kumar, a partner at MRT Music. He claims that Rakshit Shetty and his production house, Paramvah Studios, used songs from the movie 'Gaalimaathu' without obtaining the necessary rights.
According to Navin Kumar, these songs were incorporated into 'Bachelor Party' without any formal agreement or payment to MRT Music.
In January 2024, discussions took place between Rakshit Shetty and MRT Music to acquire the rights to these songs. Despite several meetings and negotiations, no agreement was reached. MRT Music alleges that even after these failed negotiations, Shetty proceeded to use the songs in his film.

Following these events, MRT Music decided to take legal action against Rakshit Shetty and Paramvah Studios. The music firm issued a notice, accusing Shetty of copyright infringement and unauthorized use of their intellectual property.
The Kannada film industry has been buzzing with reactions to this news. Many are surprised by the allegations, given Shetty's standing in the industry and his previous record of professional conduct. Some industry insiders believe that this issue could have been avoided with better communication and clearer agreements.

As the legal proceedings continue, it remains to be seen how Rakshit Shetty and Paramvah Studios will respond to these allegations.
